Chardonnay is back, well back on this blog if no where else. Bonterra Vineyards Chardonnay 2006 Mendocino is one of the wines made by the label and they believe that the use of organically grown grapes make wines ’simply taste better’, Bonterra is one of the first wineries to have the Soil Association Certification for their wines too. This American wine has full on Oak aromas with Caramel, Honey, Nuts and Tropical fruits standing out. These aroma’s carry onto the palate and provide a very good wine which should not be missed.

The Chablis 2007 Vocoret has no oaky flavours like the Bonterra Vineyards Chardonnay 2006 Mendocino but does have Apples, Citrus and Green fruit aromas and some big Stony and Mineral flavours coming through on the palate. This Chablis is made by an esteemed French winery but is not organic like the Bonterra.

Both of these Chardonnay’s should not be missed by those who are part of the ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) group as they really are missing out on two really good wines both priced at £9.99 at Majestic Wine.
