Now I know the title of the blog page is I love shoes and wine, however I thought I would mix it up (pun intended) a bit and this one is a bit about cocktails. I am a cocktail lover and joined the cult whilst at university, and not just because it meant that you could get drunk faster as there is never a lot of mixer in a cocktail but because, well, they are scrummy!
My favourite haunt was always the generic cocktail bars until I found a small chain of bars in Newcastle, namely Mr Lynch and Nancy’s Bordello. Now these bars didn’t just do the normal bog standard cocktails, they went a little further and had some amazing new cocktails that you have to try, including a sherbet dibdab!
However, when again in university and times were hard, I learnt how to shake my own cocktails! They may not be as posh, or served in the frosted glass - mainly because the freezer isn’t big enough, but they were still amazing! But you need at least a shaker and maybe some other funky bits and bobs to make it a great night in. Drinkstuff.com is a good website to get some bits and bobs from for your party at home.
