I recently had my first ever Pimms, yes I realise that it is probably wrong to admit that prior to this I have shied away from this perfect summer drink but it is true!
I have to say I think I am a convert, though this could be do with the excellent company and perfect weather which accompanied the drink. It is just summer in a glass and this was without any added extra fruit being thrown into the mix, just a sprig of mint and some lemonade - perfect! I will definitely have to get myself a bottle or two to see me through the fast approaching summer. Maybe it was the cold north that kept from indulging in such a long summer drink.
However as all wine lovers know it is necessary to consume a bottle or two of wine with any BBQ and we did with gusto polishing off a nice bottle of Vignes de Nicole Chardonnay Viognier, a true winner with a nice BBQ’d piece of chicken, or a sausage.
The only thing missing would have been a nice cold glass of Bollinger with strawberries, I will have to remember this concoction for next time.
