I love shoes and own a few more pairs than I possibly should but when you walk past the window and they are all displayed on their shelves the leather just calls. Whether it be a boot, a shoob, a stilletto, pump or wedge they are all so pretty in their own right.
There are also shoe categories, and these are not based on the heel height, no these are based on the comfort level. In my book there are the following categories:
Taxi to Restaurant shoes- these are the normally the prettiest of them all with enticing sparkling straps and 5+ inch heels.
Night out shoes - these may be Taxi to Restaurant shoes that you have finally got used to after a few outings, or just tottery high heels that are only comfortable after a good quantity of wine, cocktails and/or shots have been consumed.
Shopping shoes - now these are your best friend, the shoes that get you round the shops without causing pain after 9 hours of trekking in the sales and scrum fights for the last pair of Jimmy Choo replicas in your size.
Work shoes - I have a basis of 3 pairs for work, heels, boots and pumps. Now if I am doing a lot of tea rounds its pumps or boots all the way but if I fancy adding a bit of glamour the old comfortable heels come out.
Now I am not going to lie, I sometimes fall out with my shoes, mainly when they give me blisters, pain and burning balls of feet as presents after having only walked 10 steps. When this occurs my shoes go in the “naughty corner”, also known as the back of the wardrobe until I am ready to face the pain again. This mainly happens with Taxi to Restaurant shoes or Night out shoes.
